You can still change the butt size from the side profile (where it’s much easier to see how far out the butt is). When you’re looking at a sim’s back, it’s pretty hard to tell how far out the butt is coming anyway, so I don’t think it’s too big a loss. The butt slider also alters the behavior of the game’s butt sliders by disabling the butt size sliders in back view.
